Future Freight Networks : Yearbook 2011
80X Company profile In Australia on April 1 2011, Yusen Air & Sea Service and NYK Logistics International Division became Yusen Logistics. The integration of these two separate organisations heralds a new era for international logistics, allowing the new company to provide more cost effective, tailor-made solutions. Yusen Logistics boasts operational bases in 36 countries throughout the world and through partner networks covers virtually the entire globe. The company currently has 16,000 employees, approximately 400 offices and warehouses with a total floor area of around two million square metres. As freight forwarding logistical experts, we’ve noticed in recent years a transition in client needs from specific- optimal to total-optimal. Traditionally, logistics companies offered services that were seen as distinct entities such as only air forwarding, or warehouse storage or land transportation for example. Today’s clients demand an approach that takes a complete overall view of the supply chain, by integrating a variety of logistical functions to provide optimised solutions. To meet this demand, Yusen Logistics will provide the complete organisational solution from point of departure to final destination – air or ocean freight forwarding and contract logistics services utilising our extensive global network and our diverse experience. We proudly offer a one-stop service that enables rapid response to our client’s international logistical needs. Regardless of the merger, we shall continue to stand by our dedicated mission of contributing to global economic development and maximising corporate value by striving to earn the trust and keep the respect of our customers through sophisticated, honest and friendly logistic services. Hiromitsu Kuramoto is the Company President. “Moving ahead, the Company will pursue an even higher level of service quality better tailored to customer needs in the two key business areas of air/ocean freight forwarding and contract logistics. We also intend to generate greater customer satisfaction through a host of services according to customers’ logistics needs,” said Mr Kuramoto. Our company has certainly come a long way since February 1955, when our first incarnation, Kokusai Ryoko Kosha was established to handle general travel and air cargo. We’re very excited about the future and look forward with eager anticipation to continuing to service the freight forwarding and logistic needs of businesses who value superior customer service, coupled with a commitment for safety and reliability, all the while focussing on adhering to our core values of integrity, innovation and intensity.
