30 Members of the Australian Logistics Council and senior Department of Infrastructure & Transport officials convened at the Department in Canberra on Friday 1 April for the first ALC/Department of Infrastructure & Transport dialogue. Over 40 senior industry representatives and key government officials met to discuss the important regulation and infrastructure issues confronting the transport and logistics industry. The session commenced with a welcome by Michael Kilgariff, ALC CEO, and Karen Gosling, Executive Director, Surface Transport Policy. Mike Mrdak, Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure & Transport, then gave an insightful presentation on the Australian Government priorities for infrastructure and transport. Don Telford, ALC Chairman, and Michael Kilgariff then briefed the gathering on the key ALC strategic issues, extracted from the ALC Strategic Plan.
