Future Freight Networks : Yearbook 2016
72 COMPANY PROFILE Y COMPANY PROFILE ‘Our Customer Care Centre now allows us to interact directly with our customers – something we weren’t able to do before,’ Lotter says. Hino Australia posted a strong year of sales in 2015, with 4466 vehicles sold – the largest volume since the global financial crisis in 2008. Hino also took the honours as the fastest-growing brand in market share growth among the top 10 truck manufacturers, and has maintained a five- year winning streak by receiving the global award for 2015 Parts Department of the Year, and 2015 Service Department of the Year from Hino Motors Limited Japan. Hino Australia started 2016 with some exciting news in motorsport. Hino Team Sugawara claimed its seventh consecutive class victory in the gruelling Dakar Rally, marking 25 years since Hino became the first Japanese truck manufacturer to enter the rally in 1991. A major partnership was also announced, and Hino Australia has confirmed it will take a prominent position throughout the next three seasons to magnify its presence in the sport as the Official Light and Medium Duty Truck and Bus Sponsor of Supercars. ‘Connecting with our customers, whether live at the track or through television and online, has to be meaningful as well as entertaining,’ Lotter says. ‘The Supercars partnership gives us a platform to enhance the Hino Advantage position, and is a terrific opportunity to undertake innovative communications.’ Hino Australia extended its motorsport partnership by also announcing its support of the much-anticipated Toyota 86 Racing Series as Official Truck provider. The Toyota 86 Racing Series is an affordable series based on the country’s best-selling sports car, the Toyota 86 coupe, to be raced exclusively at selected Supercars rounds. With a successful past behind it and a bright future ahead, Hino remains as committed as ever to keeping its customers’ businesses on the road. Rest assured, with 50 years behind it and many more to come, Hino is here for the long haul. 500505E_Hino Motor Sales I 2242.indd 25 9/05/2016 11:58 AM
